CHAIRS NEWS LETTER EASTER 2023
THE YEAR GETS EVEN BETTER: LEAGUE WINNERS
The Senior squads have done really well. A week last Saturday the 1 ST XV travelled to Royston for their last league game of the season, which they had to win to top the Herts/Middlesex 3 table. We did it in style winning 21-28 . The score did not reflect our dominance against a rather predictable Royston attack. defensively we were magnificent, in attack. Superb handling created good positioning for our scrum to finish off 2 great forward scores.
Don’t believe the positions on the London and South East league tables. The league is won on percentage points which meant that we topped UCL.
The seniors have a busy time through April and early May. Saturday 6th April, Vee’s 2nd XV play Hatfield away in the merit table cup, KO 3pm.
Please come along and support. winning will mean a home fixture on April 13th , a possibly double
header at home then Saturday 13th April Vee’s 1 st XV play Risborough RFC in the first round of the Papa John Cup KO 3pm.
Preceded by our annual VPS lunch, places still available. the subsequent rounds are every Saturday until the final on May 11th. If successful venues for rounds will be advertised when known.
Saturday 18th of May the 1st XV is in the final of the Herts Plate again against Royston, venue and time TBC.
On to the minis and juniors. More great success to report!
28th April sees the Colts playing Old Albanians Colts in the final league match of their season. Winners top the league. Please support! the minis and junior have had great success in cup matches as well. Both the U16s and Colts are in the finals of their cups, venue Hertford RFC 21st April.
PLEASE GO ALONG AND SUPPORT!
In other competitions the U13s did well at the Herts festival venue OAS winning 2 games and drawing 3 And came 3rd at the recent Harrow 10s.
Lots of festivals and competitions still to come, watch this space Best of luck to all taking part.
In the next few months, the club is making a number of improvements to both our social and playing facilities. Most of these improvements will be done professionally, but there are a number of annual maintenance jobs to be done on a volunteer work week end to be announced soon.
Enjoy the rest if the season, and for those in the junior and minis on tour, in the next few have a great time.
