Mini and Junior Rugby Returns to The Vees
Mini and Junior Rugby Returns to The Vees
Although social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England from Monday 14 September, the Government has confirmed that organised sports and activities that have been through return to play protocols, can continue. This includes Ready 4 Rugby Activity and O2 Touch
The club has put in place a number of safety Protocols and has established a risk register to assess how we bring everyone back safely to the club. All coaches have been briefed, volunteers will be on hand on Sundays to help you navigate the new way of accessing the club and enjoying Rugby. Whilst we have done everything we can as a club it comes down to everyone playing there part in observing Social distancing and approaching the new ways with a smile on your face.
We have just moved into Stage D of the RFU’s Back to Rugby programme. If you have any questions relating to this, or any rules, please feel free to ask Rob Lines the Mini and Junior Club Coaching Coordinator.
If you are new to the club and are unsure of how to proceed please email via the get in contact section of the website and we will be back to you asap.
Here are the times for training, as discussed hopefully this will be temporary, and this will just be until October half term.
Return to Rugby Sunday 13th September – October
· Mini’s (U6’s to U12’s) will train from 9.30 – 10.45
· Juniors (U13’s to Colts) will train from 11.30 - 13:00
· Return to Rugby Plan D
· If you plan to leave straight after the mini’s session and have driven we ask that you leave by 11.05 am. However, if you wish to stay and socialise are welcome to do so but we would ask that you stay until after 11.30 am, with juniors not arriving before 11.15 am. This is so that we can avoid congestion on the A414 and maintain everyone’s health and safety!
· Players and Supporters are requested to go straight to the age group pitch
· A responsible adult must be present for all children in case of accident or illness (this can be another parent at the club if you are volunteering for example)
· First aiders will be on duty but will only be able to offer advice and support to the responsible adult.
· There will be a one way system for toilets on a one in one out basis – gents through the changing room door, and the ladies through the main clubroom door.
· Each child will need to bring their own sweat towel and water bottle
· There will be a Track and trace system, with QR codes placed around the club and pitches – please do scan the QR code! Please ask parents to sign in each time. Please ask if you have any questions about this. The details are kept securely for 21 days from the last sign in.
Food / Kitchen
There will be a limited selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks available served at the back door of the club, Kitchen entrance from the car park.
Club Shop
The club shop will be open, but now serving from a clubhouse window. Please speak to Nicola if you have any questions. Due to Covid any handled products will be removed from sale for 72 hours.
Subscriptions
Parents will shortly be contacted by Juliette regarding registration and subscription. Juliettes email will have all the relevant details.
There is a slight change this year, where all registrations will be completed by parents / guardians on the RFU’s GMS system, and subscriptions will be by bank transfer – but all details will be provided in due course.
Of course in the current climate many more people have been impacted financially by the current pandemic, and at Vees we want all children to be able to enjoy their rugby, so if you or any of the parents from your age group have difficulty with the subscriptions please come and talk to any one of us that you feel comfortable to talk too – Colin, John, Nicola, Paul and of course Juliette.
