U14s Verulamians v Epping 73 - 5

A beautiful sunny morning with a crisp easterly wind, made for perfect playing conditions for the under 14’s penultimate game of the season.
The Vees kicked off, Epping received, and were soon met by our tough tackling forwards.
Relentless pressure led to a try from Arthur, no conversion.
Next up Freddie S received the ball on the left and powered through for another try. Conversion scored.
Relentless pressure in the midfield led to Luca picking up a loose ball and powering through the midfield, and scoring under the posts.
Conversion scored.
Another try for Arthur, who saw a gap in the Epping defence, touching down under the posts.
No conversion.
Yet another try scored by Jonny, using his pace to touch down after a series of passes.

The under 14”s were relentless.
38-0 up at half time.
The second half was much the same as the first, relentless pressure from the Vees, who had even started to disrupt Epping seemingly best weapon, their rolling maul.
Replacement Quinn coming on and scoring two tries with his impressive pace,
Arthur adding two more to his tally.
And Sam Dooley scoring on his return.
With Freddie C scoring the last two conversions, and Epping scoring somewhere near the end,

73-5 to the mighty Vees.
A real team performance, with pretty much a full squad.
Let’s hope for similar team performance in the final next Sunday, if the team play to their full potential they just might get their hands on some silverware.

U7s Sunshine Rugby Lights Up Herts County Tag Festival
Vees U7s took part in their first tournament in the sunshine at Barnet Elizabethans RFC.

It was a wonderful end to a fantastic season. All 3 teams played their best tag rugby with superb tagging, passing and running. Congratulations to all involved - they were a credit to Vees.

The teams were:

Barbarians: Agatha, Isabelle, Leo and Rory
Centurions: Chloe, Darcey, Sammy and Zac
Gladiators: Harrison, Henry, Luke, Oliver and Felix
